According to her rescuers Miss Willie the dog spent 12 years chained up outside in North Carolina. However one day a PETA staff member discovered Miss Willie in a state unable to stand due, to heartworm disease.
Finally Miss Willies owner agreed to give her up. This prompted a volunteer to embark on an adventure for her—a bucket list filled with experiences, delicious food and wonderful companionship.
Miss Willie had the chance to enjoy a pizza party, stroll, along the beach and even go on a canoe ride. She experienced delightful things during this time—like sleeping on a cozy bed indoors—before peacefully passing away 16 days after being rescued.
