A Good Samaritan called Kaleigh Wetrich heard faint barks of a poor pup coming from the woods while walking nearby, so, she decided to go to investigate.
After following the sound, the lady found a small puppy tied to a tree using a garden hose!
The pup’s head was tied around by the hose, that was also wrapped between 2 trees. This left the dog unable to move, lay down, or even stand!
There was no water or food nearby for the dog! He just wanted some shadow from the leaves to protect him from the sun.
Seeing how bad the dog’s situation was, the lady used the messenger app to contact Apollo Support & Rescue, and one of their volunteers, Steve Basham, directly went to the scene to help the pup. When the puppy saw them coming, he started barking as if he knew that they wanted to help him.
His organs were about to shut down if they did not rescue him just in time. They then directly took the dog, who was named Lucky, to the veterinary clinic to be checked up.
He was seriously anemic, and infested with fleas and hookworms. The veterinarians considered a blood transfusion as they found his blood platelet count very low.
The rescuers said that they would do anything they could to get Lucky’s health back again. They then planned to find a forever home to him.
Thankfully, Steve started to get better every day. He started gaining weight and showing signs of improvement. The best thing was that he was fostered by a kind family, who promised to do what they could to make him completely healthy again. What a happy ending! Watch the video below.
