The transformation that a haircut can bring, for dogs is truly astounding. Many stray and neglected canines unfortunately don't receive grooming leading to matted fur that causes them significant distress.
Recently a stray dog was discovered in a state with an amount of fur that made her appear like a wig. Thankfully a rescue organization called Macs Mission stepped in. Provided her with a life changing makeover.
Based in Missouri Macs Mission came across this dog in condition while she was wandering in the middle of the road. The rescue team named her Pear due, to her appearance. Thick matted fur covered her body making it hard to recognize her as a dog.
In fact Pears condition was so severe that she resembled more of a clump of hair than a dog. Recognizing the urgency of the situation the rescue organizations volunteers wasted no time, in giving her a needed “spa session” to rid her of the filth.
"We cleaned her up carefully shaved off her fur and gave her a soothing bath to eliminate dirt and fleas ” explained Rochelle Steffen, the founder of the rescue organization. Afterward Pear peacefully fell asleep as she finally settled into one of our accommodations.
The effort put into rescuing Pear and restoring her well being is truly heartwarming. It serves as a reminder of the impact that simple acts of care and grooming can have on an animals life.Pear was a behaved and gentle girl, throughout the entire process. It was heartwarming to witness her patience as we carefully removed her dreadful mats. This task took quite some time. Pear remained calm throughout.
The rescue informed us that Pear was fortunate to have avoided any infestation by maggots in her fur or being involved in a car accident. Unfortunately she is missing one eye, presumably due to an injury.
Macs Mission graciously shared before and after photos of Pears treatment showcasing a transformation. Looking at the pictures it's almost unbelievable that it's the dog! This transformation opens up a world of possibilities for Pear. We are tremendously grateful, to everyone who contributed and supported Macs Mission.
